Testimonials. These are often to be taken with a pinch of block salt, since those devilish marketing people (ahem) encourage businesses to use them as a standard means of promotion. Almost any product you can find will make bold claims about what it can do, its unparalleled level of quality, the great support that the company offers and so forth. It is great to see positive opinions on impartial review sites.

Mandatory Marketing

Often when reviews are sought out, only the most positive responses are the ones that are broadcast for public consumption. When I first joined Harvey Water Softeners, Harvey said to me “what’s the quickest way to becoming the best salesman?” I had several ideas in my head, but his answer was very simple.

“Find the best product.”

Quality

The emphasis on quality at Harvey Water Softeners is apparent from everyone I have spoken to, including the IT guys (who are normally blessed with a degree of cynicism!) Having now had the opportunity to quiz a customer myself, I have learnt that we do not have to encourage or coerce people into saying great things about our softeners, they often come straight to us automatically.

Customer Opinion

I had the pleasure of asking a gentleman called Steve Brooks what he thought of his softener and the service that he has received.


Shashi: What persuaded you to get a water softener?
Steve: We lived in Canada for 5 years and became "spoiled" by the natural soft (fresh) water coming out of the Great Lakes. We didn't know what we were missing until experiencing it, but once bitten! When we came back the to the UK our skin and hair never felt the same. So I would say health was number one. Secondly we don't like limescale all over our sink and pots and pans and counter tops. Not to mentions shower, bathtub and inside our new appliances. So that would be the two main reasons.
Shashi: What have the biggest benefits been?
Steve: When we get out of the shower we don't feel like our faces are going to crack and fall off! My wife's hair is much much easier to manage (I don't have much!), no more messy pots and pans etc, and peace of mind that our appliances stand the best chance of a long life.
Shashi: Have there been any unexpected benefits? (Things we may have not listed on our site.)
Steve: No, but there was one unexpected downside and that was that we didn't like the taste of the softened water. Harvey soon fixed that by installing a separate drinking tap for us.
Shashi: Why Harvey's model in particular?
Steve: Harvey himself had a lot to do with it; not too many company's CEO's take the time to care about their customers at that level like he did. Plus I did massive amounts of research on the differences in technology, listened to case studies, liked your price plan, and thought your website was very good too.
Shashi: Would you recommend Harvey softeners to other people?
Steve: I already have (friends, family and colleagues!)
Shashi: What has the service you have received been like?
Steve: Outstanding. Everyone (incl. Presales, Harvey, 2 x installation crew etc) seems caring, knowledgeable, punctual, honest, polite and professional. People can see through b*@$#t a mile away and your company seems to have a lot of integrity.
