Water Softener Installation

Water Softener Installation

A water softener is installed on the rising main of your property. The rising main is the pipe that brings the water into the house from the public water supply. Typically, this will be under your kitchen sink - which is why we designed our softener to fit there! However, a Harvey Water Softener can be fitted wherever is most convenient for you, given your particular plumbing, and the layout of your house.

The installer will add two pipes to the rising main, diverting the water through the water softener. These are fitted with easy-to-use bypass valves - you can always just turn two small taps, and your water will no longer pass through the water softener.

Our installers routinely provide certain taps with unsoftened water, for various purposes - some people don’t like to drink softened water, for example - others don’t want to use it for the garden.

Customer satisfaction

Of course, our priority is always your satisfaction with the finished job. That’s why we love it when our customers tell us how pleased they were with their installations. Here’s an example from a customer in Eastbourne:

I am writing to express my appreciation for the professionalism and quality of service demonstrated by your installation engineers ... your engineers were punctual, well mannered, professional and efficient in their work, leaving no mess; They were also extremely considerate and clearly keen to make the process as painless as possible.

Rules and regulations

The installation of a water softener is not difficult, but because it is plumbed into the mains drinking water there are a number of regulations that must be observed.
