The new HarveyArc Water Softener, launched this week, aims to reduce households’ carbon footprints even further. Converting all UK hard water homes to soft water would save up to 8.24 million tonnes of Co2 from being emitted into the atmosphere each year – equivalent to taking 1.8 million cars off the road or planting 136 million trees.
Off the back of this research and to celebrate our launch, we are excited to announce we are working with Eden Reforestation Projects. Through planting trees in underdeveloped countries, they reduce extreme poverty and restore healthy forests by employing local villagers to plant trees. For every demo booked before 31st December we will be donating a tree.
Being more eco-friendly is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. To complement our NEW HarveyArc that has cut the amount of plastic used by 38% and reduces your carbon footprint, we have chosen to support Eden Reforestation Projects and contribute to the great work they are doing to help combat deforestation.
Deforestation is a global phenomenon caused by a variety of factors. With most Regions that are impacted being highly poverty-stricken. Eden Reforestation Projects employs local villagers to plant the trees. As a result, through steady employment, impoverished villagers can begin to afford daily necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, and medicine.
As the reforestation effort goes on, healthy forests begin to emerge and all the negative effects of deforestation begin to disappear. The trees provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, restore ocean health, control flooding and erosion, and help to replenish the soil with nutrients needed for farming.
