One question all our visitors ask - why so many old water softeners?

Visitors to our factory in Old Woking, Surrey ask us about all sorts of things as we show them around the premises, but there’s one question that used to never fail to come up until we cleared it away. “Why do you have so many water softeners in your car park?”

You see, we built up quite a pile of cheap single-tank and electric water softeners over the years – covering an area fifty feet long and twenty feet wide, in fact. We’re not surprised that guests are mystified as to where they come from and why we keep them around, but hopefully this post will help to explain a few things.

At Harvey, we’re committed to using the twin-tank, non-electric water softeners invented by Harvey Bowden, our former managing director and current chairman. They’re a long-lasting, convenient and easy-to-use way of eliminating limescale and soap scum in the home. Inferior machines inevitably break down and fail early- and the pile of cheap, substandard machines in our car park is testament to the fact.

The pile had grown quickly because our installers often bring them back to the factory after fitting one of our own products for a customer. These systems were unsatisfactory for one reason or another – either because they broke down, or were found to be too cumbersome or inefficient to use properly.

Accordingly, the customer came across our own softeners – which don’t need to be plugged into a socket and can regenerate whenever it’s most efficient to do so – and scrapped their old one. So that’s why we grew such a big collection of single tank softeners, and why we’re proud of it – every one served as a reminder that another customer has decided our product is the best solution on the market.

Why not book a free demonstration today? Our representatives will be happy to show you exactly how they soften the water from your own tap, as well as calculating how much cash you can save. We hope to hear from you!
