Where does all the scale inside your pipes go after you fit a water softener?

The scale in your pipes will gradually dissolve and be washed out of your taps and down the drain.

When you begin to use your softened water, the water passes through your pipes gradually dissolving the minerals that will be there from the hard water. They will wash out in the water that comes out of your tapYou cannot taste this tiny concentration and it poses no health risks.

Once you’ve been using your Harvey water softener for a while all the residue in the pipes will have been dissolved and washed away, so you’ll no longer have traces of hardness from it.

Our water softeners help you around the home in so many ways. Softened water can prevent limescale build-up in taps, pipes and appliances. Many people think it tastes better than hard water, and it’s much softer on skin.
