All Shapes and Sizes

Water Softener Salt comes in all shapes and sizes, from block to curve, tablet to granular and each of these sizes is designed for specific machine types.

The main thing to consider is salt quality. A lower quality of salt will damage your machine over time, lessen the soft water impact in your home and lead to poor performance and rendering your Harvey warranty invalid.

Harvey have the largest range of water softener salt and only supply the highest quality of salt for your Water Softeners, so you can rest easy knowing that we’re looking out for you and your home.

Block Salt or Curve Salt?

Water softener salt was once only available as bags of granules or tablets. These bags were awkward to load, very heavy and took up a large amount of storage space. Harvey revolutionised the industry and invented block salt in the 1980s, going to market in 1995, changing the industry forever.

Mini Curve revolutionised it again as the go-to, high quality salt option for curved salt machines – smaller, lighter, more eco-friendly and more efficient.

Tablet salt or Granular salt?

Tablet salt meant that spillage became less of an issue than with granular, but these bags are still huge. To put this into perspective, a bag of tablet salt weighs 25kg whereas as the HarveyArc mini curve salt pack weighs just 4.25kg. Granular salt is also available in large bags and can be cumbersome, but you can also use granular salt in your dishwasher – making it very economical. As always, we recommend consulting the manufacturer when utilising granular salt.
