I wanted to protect the extension

“We clean about 5,000 properties a year and remove a lot of limescale. If people had water softeners, it wouldn’t be necessary!”

We were getting a large extension on the house. As I run a cleaning business, I was aware of the damage that hard water can do. Especially to stone and marble surfaces, as well as the taps. It’s a bug bear of all our cleaners as they have to clean a lot of limescale. As I was so aware of the damage, I didn’t want the same problems at home. The water softener was on the to-do list and I made sure the plumbing was there. We didn’t want to replace anything 10 years down the line.
