Top Tips For Relieving Stress

 

Life throws lots of different stresses our way, so it’s easy to get caught up in it all. There are many great ways to relieve stress, take a look at our favourites -

  

Exercise – this reduces adrenaline and cortisol in the body, which are stress hormones. And produces endorphins which are mood elevators. So, pick your favourite exercise whether that be a run, bike ride or even an energetic dance around your kitchen and make it a habit!

 

Practise mindfulness – this includes mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, yoga and meditation. There are also loads of handy apps you can use to get you going too.

 

Spend time with friends and family –  sharing your stresses with the people close to you helps relieve the stress and makes it easier to handle. Like they say - a problem shared, is a problem halved!

 

Spend time with pets - studies have shown that playing with pets reduces the stress hormone cortisol. And better yet you could include your exercise by taking the dog for a walk! 

 

Have a relaxing bath - hot water relaxes the body. And if you fill your bath with Harvey Water you’ll have plenty of bubbles to relax in.
