One hundred thousand softeners built

It was a proud moment for everyone at Harvey Water Softeners this week when our 100,000th softener came rolling down the production line, here at our purpose-built factory in Old Woking, Surrey.

Jonathan Lord, MP for Woking, was on hand to see the event, which marked another major milestone in this Great British success story.

All of our softeners are made right here in our own factory, which was built in 2006 by our Technical Director, Geoff Howse. Many of the water softeners that come off the production line here are shipped straight off to our European partners, and many more go out every day to our nationwide network of local suppliers here in the UK.

It’s taken us almost ten years to get to this point – one hundred thousand softeners built – and at our current rates of growth, we are starting to think we might be able to do the next ten thousand in half that time!

Coming soon

Keep an eye out for our new video – we’re making it at the moment – in which we will show you round the factory, and introduce you to the people responsible for maintaining our famously high quality standards. You’ll find out:

  • why we deliberately explode one of our resin tanks every day, in the name of quality!
  • what the Enormous Blue Vats are for, and why they have such cartoonish portholes
  • what our original resin tanks were made of

… and many more fascinating factory floor facts!

Our water softeners help you around the home in so many ways. Softened water can prevent limescale build-up in taps, pipes and appliances. Many people think it tastes better than hard water, and it’s much softer on skin. Get in touch to arrange a demonstration
